Richard’s River Camp

Location: Northern Conservancy, Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Narok County, Kenya.

Overview

The Masai Mara is located in South Western Kenya. Together with Tanzania’s Serengeti it forms one of the world’s most diverse and spectacular eco-systems. Mara North Conservancy is a beautiful private wilderness area of more than 28,486 Ha (~70,391 acres). It is a vital part of the Maasai Mara ecosystem as it forms the north-western zone, bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the south of Kenya. 

With riverine forest and short grass plains, this area is renowned for the most exceptional big game viewing worldwide.  The Camp was initially established as a ‘home away from home’ in 2006 by Richard and Liz when their son Willoughby was born, now perfectly situated on the banks of the Ntiakatek River, an area that allows total privacy and exclusivity.

As Ngoyanai springs provides permanent water, this draws a number of the wild animals around the camp, including the resident lion pride are often seen hunting right in front of the camp and heard roaring at night. This seven-tent camp is ideal for individuals and exclusive groups who desire to experience the Maasai Mara in an intimate setting, luxurious tents, combined exceptional wildlife with a contemporary ‘Out of Africa’ experience.
