Overview
Mount Gahinga Lodge is a beautiful hand-built lodge with 8 unique bandas that reflect the magic of the aesthetic traditions of the Bafumbira people. This was the 1st lodge-built Praveen Moman and opened in 2002. The perfect base for gorilla trekking on the Ugandan side of the Virunga’s, track the rare golden monkey, hike a volcano, visit local villages and experience the culture of the Batwa who are the oldest inhabitants of the Central African rain forest.
The lodge is accessible from Entebbe by air on an hour’s flight to Kihihi airstrip with a 4 hr 11 min drive (84.8 mi) to the lodge and from Bwindi Lodge a 15 min flight. By road from Queen Elizabeth National Park is an approx. 6 hours’ drive.
This beautiful property is inspired by traditional design and building techniques, recently redesigned, the lounge, dining room, gardens and an additional 2 new deluxe bandas recently opened.
The Bandas are all ensuite with showers, fireplace and private porch, a direct private footpath gives access to the gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park. The meals are exceptional and locally inspired, and personal butler service for all guests. Children under 15 years of age are not permitted on the gorilla trekking, they are welcome at the lodge under adult supervision.

There are No guide/tour guide rooms at the lodge.
