Mbweha Camp

Location: Congreve Conservancy, Nakuru County, Kenya.

Overview

Mbweha Camp is tucked away in the spectacular Great Rift Valley on the private 6,400-acre Congreve Conservancy borders the southern side of Lake Nakuru, which is part of Soysambu Conservancy, bordering a large portion of Lake Elmenteita. The Soysambu Conservancy is both a World Heritage and Ramsar Site.

Mbweha Camp has beautiful views over Eburru and Mau ranges and only a few hours’ drive from Nairobi. The ten rustic lava-stone cottages with thatched roofs are surrounded by euphorbia candelabra, yellow barked acacia and other indigenous trees.

The location is ideal for many activities outside the National Park such as guided walking safaris, mountain biking, and night game drives. Whilst staying at the Camp, you can enjoy a day’s trip into Lake Nakuru National Park with the option of a gourmet bush lunch with spectacular views of the Lake and the National Park.

The area is an important bird area, a great variety of flora and fauna, wildlife including 10% of the global population of the endangered colossus monkey. Both the lesser and greater flamingo frequent the nearby Lake Elmenteita and is the breeding ground for the great white pelican.
