Overview

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest National Park in Tanzania, and home to Mpingo Ridge Lodge, covering an area of 2,850 km² in total. The park is popular for its large elephant herds and mini-wildlife migration that takes place during the dry season which sees about 250,000 animals and over 550 bird species into the park.

The Mpingo Ridge sits on an escarpment with sweeping views across the perennial Tarangire River and valley below, though the park remains slightly off the main safari circuit, its beautiful natural scenery of classic African savannah, green hills, woodlands and rivers is famous for the superb birdlife and giant baobab trees.

The lodge has a real sense of wilderness, excellent game viewing and a relaxing standalone destination to combine Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. The 15 spacious tented suites are thoughtfully positioned to maximize the sensational views over the Tarangire Valley.  One suite has two bedrooms, designed for friends and family travelling together.

Each of the 15 spacious tented suites has been carefully positioned to maximize not only the amazing views but also to take advantage of the cooling winds during the hot season.

  • The 15 tented suites feature ensuite bathrooms, private decks, sunken outside lounges that covert to afternoon siesta beds.

10 Tented Suites: (each max 2 persons).

1 Two bedroom Tented Suite: (max 6 persons) Ideal for groups, families, or friends travelling together. With a large and spacious bedroom affording spectacular views, ensuite facilities, and a shared lounge.

3 Family Suite: (each max 4 persons) identical to the tented suites, and have a sofa bed to accommodate triple and a safari-style child’s bed for children 12 and under.
