Siana Conservancy Accommodation

Location: Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Narok County, Kenya.

Area:29,000-acre

Overview

This conservancy is located in the Eastern Maasai Mara, in 2015, 1200 landowners formed a partnership establishing this conservancy with Joe Charleson founder and manager of Leleshwa Camp. After much discussion, the local residents moved from their homesteads, called ‘Bomas’ so that their bio-diverse lands would again be open to the natural free-ranging wildlife of the Mara.

The Conservancy of 29,000 acres was set aside by Siana Group Ranch as part of a growing movement in Kenya to address the challenge of conservation amid conflicts over land use specifically towards wildlife protection and is now a promising tourism destination, rich in the Mara eco-system.

Visitors are treated to big cats, herds of elephants, and antelopes like the Gazelles, Topis, Elands, Hartebeest, and Dik Dik. During the season of the Great Migration (June – October) the wildebeests may be spotted in some parts of the Mara as they pour over the Mara River by the tens of thousands, along with uncountable zebra and gazelle.

The Uniqueness of this Conservancy

    • Staying within a conservancy guests enjoy many activities available that are allowed in the national park, including bush breakfasts, night safaris, and guided walking treks upon the land.
