The city has a museum which displays the traditional artifacts in relation to the Nyanza Province. Ruma National Park is located within the province and the only terrestrial park in Nyanza, which protects the only indigenous population of rare roan antelopes and birdlife in Kenya.

Ruma National Park is the only terrestrial park in Kenya’s Nyanza Province. Dubbed the “Last Retreat of the Roan Antelope”, the park protects the only indigenous population of rare roan antelopes within Kenya. This park has landscape mosaic, ranging from riverine woodland and rolling savannah to magnificent escarpments and towering cliffs. Ruma National Park has potential undiscovered wildlife in the midst of undisturbed peace.
