Overview

Tamarind Tree Hotel is just 5km southwest of the city within the spacious grounds of Carnivore and its iconic Carnivore Restaurant. The hotel has easy access to Nairobi National Park, and the Wilson Airport. The new expressway takes you 15 minutes from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the hotel.

With a total of 160 ensuite guest rooms and suites, there are; Four rooms for physically challenged guests, ninety-six standard doubles, forty-five standard twins, fifteen Suites with lounge area, also available are interconnecting rooms. The Hotel consists of a Tamambo which is the main restaurant and breakfast is served here, an outlet of the hotel’s distinctive international cuisine and an extensive wine list.

The Dawa lounge is an elegant yet informal social hub of the hotel, where you can sip your afternoon tea as well as a venue to enjoy a wide choice of sip your favorite drink by the heated pool at the cocktail bar as you mingle in the evening. The Duka is another venue, 24-hours coffee shop for quick and convenient way to grab a delicious light meal of a freshly packed lunch for your day trip, also offers fresh juices, soft drinks and confectioneries.

The hotel offers Sunday buffet lunch, a popular event that also includes kid’s entertainment, a true family affair. Fresh ingredients, live cooking station and attentive service create the perfect ambiance. The Carnivore doesn’t conform to the familiar restaurant traditions, as meats are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit that dominates the restaurant’s entrance. An army of carvers move from table to table, swords laden craving juicy cuts onto sizzling cast-iron plates. 

A selection of salads, vegetable side dishes and sauces accompany the meat feast, the feeding frenzy doesn’t stop until you declare defeat by lowering the white paper flag perched atop the central tray, then follows dessert and coffee.

  • 45 Standard twins & 96 Standard doubles, the largest of this room type in Nairobi. The rooms are modern with a charming earthy décor and are bathed in natural light to create a relaxing ambience. Maximum 3 Adults.
  • Superior Room, has a set apart resting lounge with seats. Ergonomic Desk for work. Separate room with a shower, bathtub and washroom, King-size bed or Twin beds.
  • The 15 Suites – Junior Suites are bright and spacious and suitable for both leisure business travelers. Maximum 3 Adults & Executive features an ergonomic desk for work meetings. 

Separate Lounge for resting and catching up on your favorite shows, and can also be converted into a second room or host a small meeting with your room.
