Overview
Located in Ruaha National Park, recently expanded by the corporation of the adjacent wildlife reserves to become the largest National Park in Tanzania.
The lodge is set on one of the most stunning stretches of the Great Ruaha River, as you relax from the comfort of your veranda and watch the game all day and only few camps can boast of this view.
Ruaha is split across two locations, with one dining Chalet along the river, and the other perched high on a nearby kopje offering a completely different viewpoint. Ruaha River lodge is the only ‘lodge’ in the Ruaha, consisting of 24 stone chalets stretched along the river bank. Built out of local stone and thatch, around natural kopjes and making the most of its exceptional position on a bend in the river.
Each Chalet has stunning views from the large veranda, within the large interior is a sitting area, writing desk, either double or twin beds, the rear of each Chalet is a large bathroom decorated with found timber, a shower and double basins. The 1st dining area is a long Banda by the river side, breakfast is the perfect time to watch the game meaner down for a drink.
Evenings are best spent around the fire pit overlooking the river below or curl up in one of the sofas with a drink and book. The 2nd area is in a domineering
Position atop the largest kopje in the area, located on a bend, enjoying the commanding views down the two sections of the river. The best sundowner spots in Ruaha.
Ruaha River Lodge is accessible by air on scheduled flights like Safari Air link to Msembe airstrip a 28min drive (11.1 mi) to the Lodge. Children aged 5 years and over are welcome, and the lodge has access for physically challenged guests.

- In the dry seasons, you need not leave the camp to see good quantities of game, as they concentrate along the river to drink.
