Tassia Lodge

Location: Lekurruki Conservancy, Laikipia County, Kenya.

Overview

Tassia Lodge opened its doors to guests in June 2001, set on a rocky outcrop on the spur of Mukogodo escarpment on 243km² Lekurruki Community Ranch, situated on the 60,000-acres Lekurruki Community Ranch overlooking a valley filled with Acacia and Newtonia trees. Tassia is in partnership between its managers and the local Mukogodo Maasai Community.

Tassia is the only lodge on Lekurruki Conservancy and guests who have complete privacy in a wilderness are largely untouched by tourism. With the spectacular and breathtaking views of the Northern Frontier District towards Samburu and its neighbours, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Borana Ranch.

Here there is no TV, Internet, or no cell reception, in essence staying at Tassia is removing yourself from the world, with hardly any interaction with other vehicles or tourists whether on a walking tour or scrambling up to the caves where the Maasai used to live.
